Holiday Lights in the Gardens

Immerse yourself in a dazzling holiday-scape at the Florida Botanical Gardens! From Friday, November 29 through Saturday, January 4, the annual Holiday Lights in the Garden installation showcases roughly a million LED lights to get visitors in the spirit of the time of year. There’ll be regular visits from Santa, plus food, drink, gifts for sale, and more.

Largo’s Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting

More holiday lights await you in Largo Central Park on Saturday, December 7, with the Holiday Stroll kicking off at 5 PM. There’ll be food and drink vendors, plus the perfect place to check off some of those friends and loved ones on your shopping list: the Strolling Market (which runs from 4 to 9 PM). At 6 PM, there’ll be a tree-lighting as well. Carolers will be among the Holiday Stroll’s live entertainment.

Boley Centers’ Jingle Bell Run

The 37th annual Jingle Bell Run, which supports the efforts of St. Petersburg’s Boley Centers and fights against stigmas around mental health, goes down Friday, December 13, with numerous live bands, DJ sets, glow zones, glow-in-the-dark face painting, and other fun. The main event is the three-mile-long family fun run, open not only to runners and joggers but also walkers (and dogs!).

Clearwater Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

One of the area’s top yearly festivals, the Clearwater Holiday Lighted Boat Parade sees some spectacularly decorated vessels flare up the nearshore waters with yuletide glam and glitter. This year’s edition takes place around 8:30 PM on Saturday, December 14, with the boats filing past Coachman Park, slipping under the Memorial Causeway Bridge, and weaving their merry way through canals to Clearwater Point. Viewing is free.

The 2019 Savor St. Pete Festival

While this is the first running under the Savor St. Pete Festival banner, it’s the eighth annual edition of the foodie bonanza previously called Clearwater Beach Uncorked, and managed as a sister soiree to Cocoa Beach Uncorked on the other side of the Florida peninsula.

Savor St. Pete Festival brings some of the top chefs, brewers, restaurateurs, and sommeliers from greater Tampa Bay to North Straub Park right along the bayfront—plus droves of gastronomes, epicureans, oenophiles, and craft-beer aficionados.

The heart of the festival is the Grand Tasting Village, open from 1 to 4 PM to General Admission ticket holders and from noon to 4 PM for those with VIP tickets.

The theme for this year’s Savor St. Pete Festival is “Arts. Eats. Beats.” Featured chefs include Todd Fisher of Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Jim Hendry and Anthony LoGerfo of Aprons, and Luis Reyes of Sysco Food Service.

Among the festival highlights are the Savor St. Pete Best Chef Competition on Saturday, which showcases contestants pulling out all the culinary stops, and the filming of two episodes of the show Cooking With Rock Stars, which spotlights ‘80s rockers and some of their personal recipes. Saturday’s episode will star Brian Howe, the lead singer for Bad Company from 1986 to 1994, while Sunday’s features Martha Davis of The Motels; both film at 1:30 PM on the respective days.

On Wednesday, July 3^rd, you’ll be able to enjoy “Fourth of July Eve” fireworks after the Clearwater Threshers baseball game against the Fort Myers Miracle at Spectrum Field, which begins at 7 PM.
