Humana Iron Girl Clearwater
The mission of Iron Girl is “to bring women of all ages together as a community by offering a supportive, energetic, and empowering environment for females pursuing a healthy and active lifestyle.”
Sunday, March 31st is race day, with start and finish in the park. Races include the Half Marathon, a 5k Run/Walk for individuals and for mother/daughter teams as well as the IRONKIDS Fun Run. The IRONKIDS heats include a little something for just about every youngster, with a 15-foot Diaper Dash, a 30-foot Toddler Dot Trot, a Half Mile for three- to eight-year-olds, and a Mile run for six- to 14-year-olds.
Runners receive such souvenirs as finisher medals, participant T-shirts, personalized race bibs, free yoga (offered by Yoga 365), and post-race food and refreshments. IRONKIDS participants will also get paid admission to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (which we recently spotlighted here at the Cabana Breeze).
The Humana Iron Girl Clearwater Wellness Festival
Associated with the races, Coachman Park will host a two-day wellness festival that weekend, with activities—many of them free of charge—open to everyone. Exhibitors include a wide range of local fitness and wellness companies as well as food vendors: from the St. Pete Running Co. and Clearwater Dream Fitness, Inc. to Milestones Sports Jewelry and Tropical Tribe Acai Bowls.
