It’s officially baseball season! If you’re a fan of the game and staying at Hotel Cabana you’ll be less than 25 miles from Tropicana Field, the home ballpark for the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Tampa Bay Rays: Upcoming Home Games
As of this writing, the Tampa Bay Rays sit atop the American League East standings with a 5-2 record. That’s based on season-opening homestands against the Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies.
The Rays will be back at Tropicana Field—their H.Q. since the team’s establishment back in 1998 (as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays)—from April 16th through the 24th, taking on the Baltimore Orioles (4/16-4/18), division rivals the Boston Red Sox (4/19-4/21), and the Kansas City Royals (4/22-4/24).
In May, you’ll be able to enjoy Rays home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks (5/6-5/8), American League East rivals the New York Yankees (5/10-5/12), the Toronto Blue Jays (5/27-5/29), and the Minnesota Twins (5/30-6/2).

Take a Tour of Tropicana Field
When the Rays are away, meanwhile, you can still get into the baseball spirit by taking a guided tour of The Trop: the only year-round indoor Major League Baseball stadium, and also a regular venue for football games, rock concerts, and other events.

More Baseball Action With Clearwater’s Minor League Team
Our area isn’t just home to its own MLB team and the spring-training facilities for multiple others. We also boast our own minor-league team, the Clearwater Threshers, who play at Spectrum Field just 20 minutes from Hotel Cabana.
The Threshers kick off their season with a homestand against the Dunedin Blue Jays April 4th through April 7th, and will also be welcoming the Fort Meyers Miracle, Tampa Bay Tarpons, and Florida Fire Frogs this month.
