Every fall, Clearwater Beach transforms into one of the biggest spectator events on Florida’s Gulf Coast, as the roar of nearly 90 offshore powerboats  reaching speeds up to 150–160 mph  takes over the waters just off the shore. Now sanctioned as part of the APBA (American Power Boat Association) National Series and produced by Race World Offshore, the Clearwater Offshore Nationals draws crowds of 50,000+ spectators and over 2,000 spectator boats to watch the action from the beach, Pier 60, hotel balconies, and the water itself.

The 2.5-mile race course runs just a couple hundred yards off Clearwater Beach, with Turn One positioned right near the iconic Pier 60  making it easy to catch every pass without leaving the sand. Race weekend also features boats on display in the Dry Pits at Sand Key Park, testing and qualifying sessions, and evening parties for fans and race teams alike. Winning teams earn qualification points toward the World Championships held later that year in Key West.
