Every February and March, Major League Baseball’s Spring Training brings the excitement of America’s pastime to the sunny fields of Florida and Arizona. All 30 MLB teams head south to prepare for the upcoming season — 15 teams training in Florida’s Grapefruit League, spread across the Tampa Bay area, Fort Myers, Jupiter, and Port St. Lucie, and 15 teams in Arizona’s Cactus League, concentrated in the Phoenix metro area.
Spring Training offers something the regular season can’t: intimate, smaller ballparks, up-close access to players, autograph opportunities, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere as rookies compete for roster spots and veterans get game-ready. It’s a favorite for baseball fans looking to combine a preseason pilgrimage with a beach getaway, golf trip, or Florida/Arizona vacation.
When: Mid-February through late March each year (pitchers and catchers report first, followed by full-squad workouts and exhibition games)
🎟️ Tickets vary by team and venue, generally ranging from $15–$150+
